My Business - Branding - Invite to Student, Parent Client Portal

Customize the Invite that clients receive - welcoming them to their portal

  • There is a standard message that your clients will receive via email
  • You may add an additional message on top of that message
  • There is also an intro video that you can use to introduce the portal to your clients.
  • These options are included in all 2024-forward CounselMore plans.

💡 TIP:

A custom invite is not the only way to welcome clients into the portal.

  • Some CounselMore members prefer to keep the standard portal login instructions without adding an additional message.
  • Others may choose to brand their message without changing the instructions, while some rely on the Welcome Assignments to provide a personalized introduction and orientation for new portal members.
  • Therefore, deciding whether to create an additional message is not a prerequisite for adopting the CounselMore portal in your practice. The standard invite is already designed to minimize barriers, allowing you to start counseling more clients right away.

1. Head to Settings > My Business Setup > Customizations > Student and Parent Portal Invitation

The login instructions from CounselMore cannot be changed but you can add a message or additional personalization to the top of the standard instructions.

2. Now you can create your own personalized message for both the student portal and parent portal by entering your text in the respective text boxes.

3. To verify your personalized message, send an invitation to a sample student and/or parent.

If your plan does not include custom portal invitations:

  • See below for the a sample invite sent to jasonterry@mailinatar.com.
  • The invites look the same for both parents and students.
For accounts with or without portal invite customizations:
  • We recommend that you create a "test" student and send an invite so that you may experience the process first hand as if you were a student or parent.
  • For your "test" student, you will need to use an email address that is not associated with CM account.
  • You do not need to sign into your client-portals to see their portal, you have view

screens to do that from within your counselor portal.

This article demonstrates viewing the student portal.

  • Sending an email to your "test" student is for the purpose of viewing the portal invitation.
