Mentors - Community Discussions: Why CounselMore Does Not Allow Attendee Recordings in Community Meetings
At CounselMore, our community spaces—such as Study Hall, Wednesday Work Group, and Process Discussions—are designed to be safe forums where counselors can speak freely, share challenges, and learn from one another. To protect that environment, we have a No Attendee Recording Policy.
This article explains why the policy exists and what it means for you as a member.
Why We Have This Policy
-
Trust & Safety
-
Counselors need to know that what they share in community sessions stays within the group.
-
Unauthorized recordings (video, audio, or AI bots) risk taking words out of context, which can erode trust and discourage open participation.
-
-
Professional Responsibility
-
Each counselor is responsible for what they say—not for how others might interpret it or for what an AI tool “thinks” it heard.
-
AI can be useful for private note-taking, but AI does not have ethics. If notes are shared outside the group, they can be misinterpreted and harm the sense of safety we’ve built.
-
-
Fair Participation
-
Community learning is most effective when everyone “shows up” and engages live.
-
Sending a bot to record a meeting for later viewing is not participation—it removes the give-and-take that makes these sessions valuable.
-
-
Integrity of CounselMore Resources
-
CounselMore sessions are not to be repurposed as your own website or marketing content. Shared wisdom belongs to the community, not for individual branding outside the group.
- Your Peer Mentor is there to moderate. Privately chat to them if you ever have a question about shared resources, recordings or note taking or email support@counselmore.com directly. Our team is here to safeguard your professional CounselMore spaces. Allow us the opportunity to serve you best by speaking up - we are here to listen.
-
What the Policy Means
-
CounselMore’s Role
-
For safety reasons, CounselMore does record its meetings.
-
These recordings are kept internal only—they are not shared publicly.
-
The sole exception is Mentorship Circle, our monthly presentation event where a member consents to having their resource shared with the wider community.
-
-
Your Role as a Member
-
Do not record or transcribe meetings using Zoom, screen capture, or AI/third-party bots.
-
You are welcome to take personal notes for your own use. These notes must never be shared publicly or quoted from another counselor without their permission.
-
Attend live whenever possible. If you cannot make it, we encourage you to join us the next time—rather than relying on bots or recordings.
-
Our Shared Standard
Together We CounselMore means professional generosity, trust, and shared wisdom. These values only thrive when we protect the integrity of our spaces. By respecting this policy, you ensure that our community remains a safe and collaborative place for every member.
✅ In short:
-
No attendee recordings of any kind.
-
Notes are for your personal use only.
-
Show up live, share generously, and protect the trust of the group.
