Google drive - Prompted for Google Login Authorization

Google drive - Prompted for Google Login Authorization

How to easily clear your Google Drive cookie and re-authenticate.

Google is very, very secure. To accomplish this Google is very strict about credentials and cookies. Often, while working outside of CounselMore, you will use different Google Accounts and partially overwrite the Google cookie.

When you return to CounselMore we recognize that you are still you but Google would like you to prove it.

Occasionally you will go to a Files Tab and see the 'Authorization Required' popup. You click the Authorize Google Drive button but simply return to the same 'Authorization Required' popup.

To fix this :

  1. Go to Settings, Google Drive
  2. Click 'Sign Out' below your name/email address
  3. You will be warned that while signed out you will not be able see your student's files (the contents of your Files Tabs). Click 'OK'.
  4. Click 'Authorize 'and see the Google Login popup. Login as normal.

While in your Google Drive settings, if you happened to have clicked 'Clear Settings' you will want to reset your Clients Storage Folder.

Return to a Files Tab. CounselMore will automatically re-establish the connection with that student's folder in your Client Storage Folder.

If you have more than one file for this student you will be prompted to select the correct folder.
