Changing a Student’s Email Address in CounselMore
Sometimes students may want to update the email address linked to their CounselMore portal. Since students cannot change their own email inside the portal, the counselor must make the update on their behalf.
Steps to Update a Student’s Email Address
1. Student Request
- The student should notify their counselor if they need to use a different email address for their portal.
2. Counselor Updates the Email
- The counselor edits the student’s record and replaces the old email with the new one.
3. Re-Invite the Student
- After saving the new email, the counselor must send a fresh portal invitation to the updated address.
- The student will then receive an invitation email to log in using their new account.
Important Notes 💡
- Until the counselor updates the record, the student can only access the portal with the original email.
- The new invitation is required for the student to activate access with their updated email.
