Assignments - Adding Images in Assignments

When creating or editing an assignment, you may want to include images to provide visual context or instructions. Make these images "public" so they are viewed outside of your closed portal environment.

What Works

  • You can copy and paste images directly from the web into the assignment description box.

Search Image > Right click > Click copy image

Go to Assignments Tab > Create/Edit Assignments/Notes > Paste (Ctrl+V)

The image will appear for students and parents when they view the assignment.

🚧   What Doesn’t Work   🚧

  • You cannot add images from your computer files (e.g., desktop, Finder, or file folders).
  • Attempting this will not work because those files live only on your local computer, and the internet does not have access to them.

Workaround

If you need to share an image stored on your computer, first upload it to the student’s Google Drive and then use the “Add Link” option in the assignment.

This way, students will be able to access the file directly from their shared Google Drive folder.
